AND....THE BUSINESS VERSION...
Been dancing for 25 years (yup, since I was 2...yikes). Been teaching competitive Jazz, Hip Hop, Acrobatics, Musical Theatre, Lyrical, Contemporary, etc, for 10 years - currently at Performing Dance Arts. Founder, with hubby, of 2some Dance where we fly in stars from So You Think You Can Dance & Dancing with the Stars to teach and perform at our events. Founder of Alves Productions Inc. where we provide entertainment, choreography and anything dance related (I have a website, but eek...needs to be revamped). And OF COURSE......been scrapping for 2 years and all the rest gets thrown out the window when I'm in scrap mode, love it, adore it, crave it!!

I enjoy living in the present moment. I will seek out anything that allows me to enjoy this, and scrapbooking is one of them! My very first scrapbook was my 3 week trip to Japan in 2007. After 2 years, 2 scrapbooks and over 50 12x12 pages, I am happy to say that I am finally finished!! (FINALLY - I get to look at different photos!)
Since then, I have grown into a scrap fanatic. I am currently building my own scrapbook room (and I'm overly excited for its completion!!) and I love spending quality scrap time with my best friend Crystal. If I had it my way, I would scrap and stamp every day!
Aside from scrapbooking, I enjoy dancing (naturally, being a dance instructor), reading, spending time with my fiance Corey and my soon to be step-daughter Hailey. Let's not forget how much I love cuddling with my little stinker Tobi (he's a Boston Terrier - the CUTEST Boston ever!)
THE DAILY LIFE OF A SCRAP-O-HOLIC
In a nutshell, I'm a busy body, so paper crafts are the calming Zen in my life. Other than cropping, I have a VERY busy schedule.
By day, I'm a patient coordinator/marketing manager at a very busy dental office. I am blessed to work with great people and have always had a huge interest in the health industry. Actually, when I was a little girl, I wanted to be a nurse. So working in a dental office not only feeds that interest, but it serves as a counter balance to my night life, which is dance!
At night, I'm a Latin and Ballroom dance instructor. I have my own company called Dream Maker Dance. I teach adults to become the ultimate social dancer. It's very rewarding to see people grow and change, not only as a dancer, but as an individual. Dance is a huge part of my life and I could NEVER give it up!
DON'T FORGET ABOUT THE WEDDING!
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that I'm engaged? That's right! On July 3rd, 2010, I will be a married woman (check out my wedding website at www.akikoandcorey.com). The sweetheart of my life, Corey, proposed to me in August (in the most creative way I might add - the story is on my wedding website). So I'm ALSO planning my dream wedding which is fast approaching! So much to do...so little time!
Every minute of the planning is exciting, but it can get really hectic. When life turns into a whirlwind, I try to follow my motto "Take time to stop and smell the roses".
Live in the present moment with everything you do, and the colours of your life will brighten with each breath.
